Notes on Bimonads and Hopf Monads
For a generalisation of the classical theory of Hopf algebra over fields, A. Bruguières and A. Virelizier study opmonoidal monads on monoidal categories (which they called bimonads). In a recent joint paper with S. Lack the same authors define the notion of a pre-Hopf monad by requiring only a special form of the fusion operator to be invertible. In previous papers it was observed by the presen...
متن کاملBimonads and Hopf Monads on Categories
The purpose of this paper is to develop a theory of bimonads and Hopf monads on arbitrary categories thus providing the possibility to transfer the essentials of the theory of Hopf algebras in vector spaces to more general settings. There are several extensions of this theory to monoidal categories which in a certain sense follow the classical trace. Here we do not pose any conditions on our ba...
متن کاملThe Weak Theory of Monads
We construct a ‘weak’ version EMw(K ) of Lack & Street’s 2-category of monads in a 2-category K , by replacing their compatibility constraint of 1-cells with the units of monads by an additional condition on the 2-cells. A relation between monads in EMw(K ) and composite pre-monads in K is discussed. If K admits Eilenberg-Moore constructions for monads, we define two symmetrical notions of ‘wea...
متن کاملDoi-Hopf Modules over Weak Hopf Algebras
The theory of Doi-Hopf modules [7, 10] is generalized to Weak Hopf Algebras [1, 12, 2].
متن کاملz-weak ideals and prime weak ideals
In this paper, we study a generalization of z-ideals in the ring C(X) of continuous real valued functions on a completely regular Hausdorff space X. The notion of a weak ideal and naturally a weak z-ideal and a prime weak ideal are introduced and it turns out that they behave such as z-ideals in C(X).
